Silhouettes and Secrets
Silhouettes
As a self-taught artist, I deeply rely on my community to understand visual and aesthetic theory.
Here are some rough sketches and work-in-progress art.
Secrets
“My professor once told me that I struggle with perfectionism because I feel the need to be good at everything. He told me that I have to learn to fail, to absolutely feel shattered and want to give up to build true determination.”
“Before 10pm, my writing is purely academic, formal, and curt. It is only after 3am that the pores of my soul seep out and cascade into a frenzy of emotion.”
“There are 2 types of writing. One that is structured, beginning with a logical coherence and a formalized structure to ensure…The other is pure output of chaos and unmeditated, unfiltered work. This work has the potential to be absolutely awful, but it is only from that that authenticity can develop. Aspects of it will sustain themselves and slowly transition, much like a caterpillar cocooning itself into a butterfly.”
